“If its fun, I’ll do it,” says Ryan Decenzo with a broad smile. Born and raised in Delta, BC, this young Canadian skater has made a successful transition from local grom to international professional. After winning countless Canadian contests, Ryan achieved his biggest accomplishment with a first place at the Tampa Am. Recognized as the most important Amateur contest in the world, the Tampa Am is the proving ground for all the greatest up and coming skateboard talents. By winning this contest, Ryan has solidified his spot in Canadian Skateboarding history.

Many of Decenzo’s most valued memories as a skate fan are a reflection of the talent in his own backyard. “BC is rad because you can skate year-round. Even in the soggy old winter months, there are always a couple days in Vancouver when you can skate outside. Not many other spots in Canada can offer that.”

Growing up watching Mike Hastie and Rick McCrank annihilate the Ladner Skatepark in 2004 still sticks with Ryan to this day. “They were crazy. After that, I started following Machnau around Vancouver - that guy has taught me tons about career stuff and just skating in general. When I got on globe Shoes, I was watching Mark Appleyard at a Photo Shoot in Vancouver and it was like, wow. Getting to skate with Chris Haslam in Barcelona was also pretty nuts”.

After having one of his most successful years to date, Ryan Decenzo is a name that you will be seeing more of in the future.
