- Repsol rider Marc Márquez had a disappointing time at Estoril after a crash on corner six ruined his chances of getting his first points in Moto2. Starting from fourth position, at the end of the first lap he was eleventh. On corner 6, he made a mistake when braking and could not avoid a crash with fellow competitor Scott Redding. Although both riders were able to rejoin the race, neither were able to make up for lost time and Marc finished in 21st place. "I have to apologize to Scott Redding, because I know how you feel when something like this happens to you,” said Marc after the race. “All weekend was a bit complicated, because we were not able to train properly due to the rain and where we had more trouble was on braking stability.”
