- About this Image
- Supercross megastar James Stewart suffered a devastating defeat in Salt Lake City, despite starting off the day in magnificent style. Needing a win to stay in the fight and take the title chase to the finale in Las Vegas, JS7 was doing everything right as he led the first several laps of the main event in Utah, but a series of crashes just before the halfway point effectively ended his campaign. With just two main events left in the 2011 Supercross series, Stewart rocketed out of the gate on his Red Bull-backed San Manuel Yamaha to capture the holeshot. However, he unfortunately crashed out and struggled to get to the front of the crowd ahead of the finishing flag. James remains in the fourth position in the overall championship points chase.
