In the summer of 1976, Montreal played host to the Olympic Summer Games. On April 7th, for the second year in a row, we will give Tremblant and the province of Quebec the ability to play host to the 1976 Winter Games as well, with Red Bull 1976.
Red Bull 1976 is a retro, multi-disciplinary ski competition that embraces one-piece suits, wigs, moustaches, outdated tricks, and questionable racing methods. The two disciplines that our brave teams of four will be competing in are Magic Moguls and Old School Air. Combined scores for both events will determine the podium.
Magic Moguls
This event, newly added for the 2012 edition, is essentially a hot-dogging speed and style race. Each crew will have one shot to send down their team members one at a time, as they bomb down the uneven moguls throwing in tricks to impress the judges. *bag of nice for your knees not included.
Old School Air
Creativity is key in old school air. The trick list is limited, as no modern tricks will be accepted by the judges; you have to keep it authentic. Each team will get two shots at the jump, and it is up to them how to attack it. One at a time, all together, using team members as props, choreographing your run; everything goes!
* Registration fee is $25 CDN / person or $100 CDN / team (4 people).
