Sean Pettit has got the rocks to do what most of us can't. Dropping in on unstable snow faces, riding full speed off of blind rollers into the abyss and launching himself off kickers in terrible light because the cameraman says so, this 19-year-old Whistler local knows skiing...and for the 4th year in a row he has been recognized for it.
Since blasting onto the ski scene in 2009 winning the Powder Magazine Video Award for Breakthrough Performance, Sean hasn't slowed down. Unreal performances in the last three ground breaking Match Stick Productions ski films Sean has established himself in the future of skiing, wherever it takes him.
He woke up yesterday as a semi-normal teenager, consciencious of the way the world perceived him, he went to sleep with the untold gratification that the ski world not only understood what he does, but how he does it, yet again.
Sean Pettit took 2nd in the Readers Poll and also top spot for Best Male Performance at the pretige's Powder Magazine Video Awards in Aspen, Colorado yesterday, a prelude to the following four days of competition between now and Sunday, cementing his spot as one of the best ever on skis. The really scarry part....he has a number of years of sking in him to improve on these milestones....

Pettit could barely contain his emotion when describing the feeling af being given these awards, "I feel f&%king good, man...really, really f&*%$ing good. It's pretty wild actually, it's definitly something you have to think about." He then took a second to try to form his words, "when you're given a title like this, or any title for that matter, within this sport, it's pretty special man, pretty special. I feel like I'm on cloud, I'm on cloud, this is an all time high."
