Following news of the tragic death of freeskier Sarah Burke, athletes throughout the world have been paying tribute to the Canadian, who has died in hospital following a recent training accident.

Burke would most likely have been one of the stars of the forthcoming Winter X Games 16 and of the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games, which she had vociferously and successfully campaigned to be a part of with the Slopestyle competition.
