Norway’s Anders Solum tricked his way to victory as the Red Bull Street Style World Finals reached an exciting climax in Cape Town, South Africa.
In front of a huge crowd on the city’s famous Grand Parade, Solum saw off South African local Kamal Ranchod to claim gold for his gravity-defying skills.
Third place went to Columbia’s Christian Mayorga, while Austria’s Faruk Onmaz took fourth spot in a close fight.
Soccer stars George Weah and Edgar Davids presented Solum with the winners' trophy and afterwards the pair expressed their admiration for the freestyler.
'I don't know a single professional footballer who can do these tricks' – George Weah
Final judge and three-time African Footballer of the Year Weah said: "Today we witnessed what it really means to have perfect control of the ball. It took a lot time to come to a decision about which country should walk away with the title."
Dutch star Edgar Davids, who was on the judging panel at the first World Final in Sao Paolo, Brazil, in 2008, was also impressed.
"It is such a fine line between total joy and huge disappointment," he said. "All you can do is look on and be impressed – these guys are just incredible, and I think the Norwegian athlete definitely deserved to win. Massive respect!"
Wednesday's final was the culmination of 221 national qualification tournaments, across 60 countries and featuring over 5000 competitors.
