HEADLINER CHANGE: JUST BLAZE TO HEADLINE RED BULL THRE3STYLE NATIONAL FINAL
Just Blaze will now be headlining the Red Bull Thre3style National Final on November 12 in Toronto at Sound Academy.
From in-house beatmaker at Roc-a-Fella to architect of countless chart-topping rap anthems which somehow satisfy both purists and pop tastes alike, Just Blaze’s startlingly prodigious output has kept him at the forefront of hip-hop production for more than a decade. A New Jersey native, his golden touch has been cast upon everyone from T.I. to Jay Electronica, with a contribution to Dr. Dre’s mythical Detox project rumoured to be in the bag.
Hosting the event is none other than TALWST SANTIAGO (Canadian Neo-Soul showman and founding member of the Canadian collective The Hi-Phoniqs).
Ten of Canada’s top DJs will be heading to Toronto to defend their titles with hopes of moving on to the Red Bull Thre3style World Finals in Vancouver on December 13 – 17. During a 10-city, cross Canada tour, clubgoers witnessed their favourite local DJs thrown down their finest tracks and battle it out for the title of the city’s “Best Party Rocker DJ”.
Red Bull Thre3style will feature the industry’s top talent – music writers, musicians, promoters, bloggers and headlining DJ’s – judging the DJs, evaluating each performer based on originality/creativity, track selection, skills, stage presence, and audience response. The challenge: each DJ needs to deliver 15 minutes of sonic infamy that incorporates a minimum of three genres of music. The constant: a pulsating, all-in all-out crowd.
The tools: Two Technics 1200 Turntables, one Rane TTM57 mixer, terabytes of tracks and years of sleepless nights djing. That is the pre-requisite for ten of Canada’s best DJ’s as they sort through millions of songs and potential mixes to prepare for the ultimate live DJ party competition.
