Canadian athletes Adam Horst (Fort Saint-John, BC), Scott Croxall (Mississauga, ON), and Kyle Croxall (Comox, BC), rounded out the top five competitors from the Red Bull Crashed Ice Munich race. They showed dynamic skill, poise, and most of all speed and are all advancing to the Red Bull Crashed Ice race in the Netherlands on February 5, 2011.
All three athletes have been working hard to compete in this year’s competition through training,
Adam Horst, a Fort, St. John, BC native who has played hockey since he was 4 and currently playing senior AAA for the Fort St. John Flyers, qualified for Munich at 5th place overall. Adam Horst will no longer be travelling to the Netherlands race, due to personal reasons. Louis-Philippe Dumoulin of Blainville, Qc will be taking his place.
Scott Croxall, brother to Kyle Croxall and returning to the competition for the third year in a row, is no stranger to the competition. With a 16-year history in competitive hockey, Scott has the skill and speed to be one of the top athletes in the Red Bull Crashed Ice World Championship 2011. Scott placed 4th overall in Munich and is now hoping to beat that for The Netherlands race.
Kyle Croxall, a Canadian favourite who is retuning to the competition for a 4th year in a row, placed first in Munich. Kyle was targeted to place in the top 5, after coming in second overall at last year’s Crashed Ice competition in Quebec City. Kyle is an athlete who has raised the profile of Ice Cross Downhill and we’re excited to see what he has in store for the second race of the season. We got a chance to talk to him and get his take on things:
